Crypto enthusiasts are already aware that 2021 is the year of NFTs. Out of the $1.85 trillion cryptocurrency market cap, NFTs alone contribute $29 billion. Recently, a specific niche called PFP NFTs has been creating ripples in the market. Airdrop Alerts has already published articles about the latest developments in the NFT space. This time, we wish to do a series on the most popular PFP NFTs in the crypto market. In our first article for the series, we have chosen the Lazy Lions NFT project.
Lazy Lions are a set of 10K algorithmically generated PFP NFTs residing on the Ethereum chain. Every Lazy Lion is unique with a random combination of 160 characteristics that includes clothes, manes, and facial expressions. These rare Lazy Lions live on a secure and secret private island. It is only the Lazy Lions holders who have access to this metaverse.
The NFT project is the brainchild of four friends from Sydney, Australia, who were bored in the Covid-19 lockdown. They are known by their online avatars in the NFT community as Ashur, Anlion, Nine, and Nin. When Lazy Lions launched on August 7th, the mint price of these PFP NFTs was just 0.05 ETH. The developers were pleasantly surprised to see that their collection sold out in just five hours for a whopping $1.5 million.
In less than two months, the lion NFTs have seen phenomenal success. At the time of writing, there are over 4.6K owners with a floor price of 2.2 ETH ($6K). Out of all the Lazy Lions, #678 is now the costliest one with a price of 99 ETH.
As a community-driven project, the developers are putting in enormous efforts to maintain and expand the network. Ashur has put it succinctly when he said, “For us, the project is the community, and the community is the project.” Thus, it is not a surprise that they have 36K+ followers on Twitter and Discord. Since the developers constantly interact with the community, their Twitter engagement recently crossed 90 million impressions in just 7 days.
It is not just ordinary crypto enthusiasts who are giving in to the craze. Celebrities and NBA players are also taking an active interest in this PFP NFT project. It all started when Jake Paul bought 10 lions that shot the floor price beyond 1 ETH. He was soon followed by basketball stalwarts like Seth Curry and Tyrese Haliburton. Even entrepreneurs like Hiten Shah, and social media influencers like Faze Tenser have jumped on the Lazy Lions bandwagon.
Have you seen them ROAR on your Twitter feed yet?
Lazy Lions have an active community because the project consistently rewards the PFP NFT holders with ROARwards. These rewards incentivize the lion holders to constantly engage and build their community.
The developers of the NFTs have curated a rewards program where all lion holders will receive 2% from resale royalties. Moreover, as a PFP NFT, users can put up their lion NFTs for a Twitter profile picture to earn more rewards. For all the latest information on ROARwards, keep a close tab on their Discord channel.
This isn’t all. The lion holders are up for more free rewards.
NFT Holder Airdrops is a very popular form of community rewards in the NFT domain. Thus, the Lazy Lions developers are airdropping Bungalows NFTs as part of their NFT Holder Airdrops program.
There are a total of 9.6K Lazy Lions Bungalows, randomly generated from a combination of 100 unique characteristics. All the holders can get a free Bungalow by only paying the gas fees. However, even if someone is not a lion owner, they too have access to 1,500 Bungalows. The floor price for these Bungalows now stands at 0.07 ETH, with a total volume of 274 ETH.
Ever since Lazy Lions launched, they have been making steady progress. So much so that they ranked third just after CryptoPunks and Bored Apes in terms of floor price. The most important reason for their success is that they are delivering their rewards to the community as promised. Their overall performance is making the Lazy Lions project one of the most credible PFP NFTs in the crypto market.
The Lazy Lions community should brace themselves for more activities in the coming days. According to their Roadmap, the project is 80% complete. Once the Bungalows Airdrop is over, the last phase will begin. In this step, the developers will introduce a Play-to-Earn lion game with lots of community prizes.
We like the Lions so much, we decided to purchase one and set it as our own PFP. Game on!
